Lesson 1: ICT Competency Standards for Philippine Pre-Service Teacher Education
I
learned that ICT have importance and advantage in our society and in our life
as well. Unfortunately, it has a big impact on people in different ways.
Sometimes, it is taken for granted because of how common it is. Nowadays, we
access to the internet everywhere. We allow to get whatever information we
want. We can talk or communicate to people freely through messenger. In ICT
competency standards for Philippine Pre-Service Teacher Education, I
learned about the seven domains, which are; Understanding ICT in Education,
Curriculum Assessment, Pedagogy, Technology Tools, Organization and
Administration, Teacher Professional Learning, and the Teacher Disposition. And
also the definition and meaning of technology, instructional technology, ICT
Literacy, Education Technology and others.
At first, I felt that it is
not so important or needed. I also have no idea what is the purpose of it to
us. But when we study this lesson, I developed that it is useful and have
benefits. Through ICT, it helps us to finish our works
easier. ICT is effective in terms of teaching and learning. It can be uses as a
school communication to improve student learning and better teaching
techniques. As a matter of fact, living without technology is absolutely boring
because it is being part of our system.
